Honey Buffalo Smoked Chicken Wings
Smoky, sweet, and spicy—perfectly paired with crisp celery and your favorite dip.
Ingredients:
• 2–3 lbs chicken wings (whole or flats/drums)
• Avocado oil (binder)
• Caribeque All-Purpose (AP) Rub
For the sauce:
• 1/2 stick unsalted butter
• 1/4 cup honey
• 1/2 cup buffalo sauce (Sweet Baby Ray’s or your favorite)
Instructions:
1. Prep the Wings:
Pat wings dry. Toss in a light coat of avocado oil, then season generously with Caribeque AP Rub.
2. Fire Up the Egg:
Set your Big Green Egg for indirect heat at 250°F using your favorite smoking wood (apple or hickory work great).
3. Smoke the Wings:
Place wings on the grate and smoke for about 1.5 to 2 hours, flipping halfway through. Internal temp should hit 175–180°F for tender, juicy wings.
4. Make the Sauce:
In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter, then stir in honey and buffalo sauce until fully combined.
5. Sauce the Wings:
Once smoked, toss wings in the honey buffalo sauce or brush it on. Optional: throw them back on the grill for 5–10 mins to set the sauce.
6. Serve:
Plate with celery sticks and a side of blue cheese or ranch!
